"As you may be aware, Cambridge
Central Library is to undergo major renovation and refurbishment as part
of the development of the Grand Arcade Shopping Centre, scheduled to open
in October 2007.
This exciting opportunity will
help us shape a library for the future - it will be completely re
designed, providing an exciting environment for its unique existing
collections, together with a modern range of services and facilities.
In order to ensure that the
newly enhanced library truly meets the needs of its customers, we would
very much appreciate your input into its planning. We are keen to utilise
everybody's imagination and capture all ideas - our vision is to provide
you with the services that you want in the way that you want them.

East Cambridgeshire District
Council
I am
trying to locate a hostel which was in Bottisham in 1948. It was
known as the European Voluntary Workers Hostel.
I
have written to Cambridgeshire Council and they can find no trace of
this establishment.
My late father was in this hostel and I would dearly like to build
some sort of a picture of his life prior to coming to live in
Stockport.
Is it possible to place something in your local newspaper to make
enquiries? Ie does anyone have any recollection of this building,
it’s location, the people, photographs etc?
Many thanks
