This book reviews a thousand years in the life of
Bottisham, from the time of the Saxon monk, Ailric,
through to the Norman Conquest, to the influx of some
two thousand American airmen in the Second World
War. Over the centuries many national figures have
been citizens of Bottisham their lives and times are
described. The closing decades of the twentieth century
have seen the development of local education and
community facilities which will be a foundation for
village life in the twenty-first century.
