Funding For Crime and Disorder Projects

The East Cambridgeshire Community Safety Partnership has produced a three-year strategy for how crime and disorder in the district will be tackled.  The main priorities included in the Strategy are:

·        Anti-social Behavior

·        Substance Misuse

·        Property Crime – vehicle crime and burglary

·        Violent Crime

·        Protecting vulnerable groups (such as ethnic minorities and older people)

·        Reducing the fear of crime

·        Increasing levels of reporting

·        Developing data sources for future research and to inform project work

·        Adopting a problem solving approach to reducing crime and disorder in Ely, Soham, Littleport and Burwell.

·        Reducing the Risk Factors of crime.

Some funding is available to community groups who are experiencing any of the problems listed above and can provide details of how their project would reduce crime and disorder.
