To whom it may concern,
I'm in the process of looking up my family tree, and have come
across a link to the Jenyns family. This from my mother's side.
my question is do you know who the the name "JENYNS CLOSE" is named
after? Am i right in saying that it is one of the Jenyns family?
Your help in this small mater would much appricated.
Yours

From Anglian Water Dear Editor, I should like to publicly congratulate John San Vicente and Stuart Patterson on their great achievement in the Four peaks challenge recently. They raised over £2000 for the Wooden Spool charity that helps disadvantaged children. They climbed the four highest mountains in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland over a weekend culminating in a gala presentation dinner in Ireland. Well done Bottisham lads for all the work you have done on fundraising and the effort you have made - Sandra San Vicente, Jenyns Close |

Has anyone pictures of the old bakery in Bottisham?
It belonged to my husband's family (Smith) late 1800's and anytime up to the 1930's I should think. Any details of the Smiths welcome also.
Many thanks

| Thank you for the excellent article on the Internet. Nell Bendall was my Aunt, whose funeral I attended last year. Cecil Hodder is my Father, now 93, who also came with me. I would be interested to know if you have any photos of the family or Whitelands in your records that I could buy for my Father. We met Rowland at Xmas after many years when he came to England. We met at the British Museum so that he could see the Snettisham Hoard. My Father is still very active and remembers events clearly. He would certainly like to visit Bottisham again and perhaps I could arrange a visit as a surprise for his 94th birthday in April. My e mail is dvbriggs@onetel.net.uk (no underline). Best Wishes Diana Briggs (nee Hodder) |

As I was looking through the Bottisham site I was so pleased to see a
photo of my great grandmother Mrs Sarah Rolph, she is the lady in black
on the left in the front sitting down. I should think the reason she was in black was because there oldest son William my grandmother brother was killed in the 1914 -18 war, he was very special, and my cousin has his war medals, I have lot's of old photo's of that time. My great grandparent's and my grandparent's are buried in Bottisham and somewhere in the old part is great granddad Fred's parent's, but my grand mother could not remember where. I hope this may have been of interest to some one. Sandra Russell.

from Jocasta I'm not sure who this should be addressed to but I live in Bottisham and am currently in the lower sixth at Hills road sixth form which is where I have come across this website. This is the first time I have ever been on and I think it is very informative about Bottisham and what's going on as there are so many things that were going on in my own village that I wasn't aware of! The music society for example I didn't even know there was one! I think it would be a shame for it to end especially as if there was more advertising I'm sure there would be more support. What sort of music does it perform in its concerts? Are there regular concerts? Also I was wondering if there are any plans to create any activities for secondary school children. There seems to be more and more teenagers out on the streets and they get themselves a reputation for being troublemakers but there isn't anything in the village for them to do. Maybe there could be a well organised disco type night every few months for teenagers or a youth club on a week night. There did used to be a youth club which started out as being very popular but it became quite religious and a lot of people lost interest. I'm also aware that there are for sport and drama groups as I am part of the youth theatre group, Bikeshed but there are lots of teens in the village especially boys that just want to "hang out/chill" with their mates. I'm am concerned about the reputation of teenagers as I am one myself and I have two younger brothers who I don't want to just be hanging out in the streets getting a bad reputation. Thank you for spending time to read this and if I have emailed the wrong person with my comments and queries i'm sorry. Yours Jocasta Haynes (16) |

It has been very interesting to visit your web site, in particular to read my own father's life story! I met with another former Bottisham resident, Ray Sharp, yesterday and the web site certainly stimulated our conversation. I look forward to further visits |

I do wonder about the 'moving' title. Also I find it quite hard to navigate with bits all over the front page. The addition of the 'main menu moving box' is extremely annoying - Please remove it! Also I think if the discussion forum was given more billing on the home page it might get more usage. Tinkerbell |

3 April 2002
I have just been browsing the web site for the first time and found it very informative and interesting. However, you might like to be aware of the following:
1. There are a number of links which are
not functioning, e.g. Map of your house etc. Even the "Back to
Front Door" link on most of the secondary pages gives an error.
2. The slide show looks very good I am
sure when run on a PC but on an internet connection, even ISDN, it
moves on to the next page before the pictures are more than half
displayed. It would be better to leave it to the viewers to select
"Next" themselves.
Keep up the good work

I'm trying to track down a old school pal
called Duncan Arthur Smith who
lived in Bottisham during the 1970s. A reunion is planned in May for ex- Cambridge Grammar School boys at the Granta. He, or any one knowing his whereabouts, can contact me direct or through the Friendsreunited web site. We already have about 60 located including Dave Knipe (also ex Bottisham) Best Wishes Steve (slim) Webb

Is there room for more involvement in the design & appearance of it? And for starters can we ditch the ladybird backgound on the home page please? It's awful. If Bottisham is going to be at the forefront of broadband development for local communities then our website should also be ground breaking - any ideas? Chris Mcmahon Ladybird background - removed! Chris, email me to discuss the points above, please |

Date: 29 Oct 2001 Time: 22:46:57 Comments: Bottisham is a nice village and so close to hi-tech Cambridge but this website is a disaster. Have you even heard of the terms "navigation" and "structure"? The village deserves better than this to represent their community. Please either improve it dramatcially (sic) or hand it over to someone who can.
