Environment Position at 25th May 2005

 

A.  Jointly Funded Minor Improvement 2005/06 Still awaiting brochures re cost of purchase and installation of a 5 bar gate as at Fen Ditton to provide a gated entrance in Tunbridge Lane.

 

B.   Jointly Funded Minor Improvement Scheme 2006/07. Application papers received and bids need to be submitted by 29th July

 

C.  Highway Work

 Andrew Tipple from the Highways Department has stated that

1. The path alongside the A1303 from Bell Rd to the White Swan junction will not be resurfaced during 2005/06. The worst areas should be patched within the next 3 months.

 

2.  Repairs to footpaths in Beechwood Ave, West Walk and Spring Lane and footway between 79 and 97 Beechwood Ave will be done in period July to September

 

3.  The damage to the pavement in Beechwood Ave near entrance to 79-97 Beechwood Avenue caused by a lorry delivering bricks will be repaired shortly.

 

D. Village Lighting Maintenance and Energy Charges – change of supplier as from 1st October 2004. An invoice has been received covering the period 1/10/04 to 31/03/05        The contract is awaited.

 

E. A letter has been received from a resident in Jenyns Close following the item in the Cresset concerning traffic problems. The Clerk has written to Hereward Housing to request that they ensure that all properties they own have sufficient off road parking spaces.

 

F.  Mr Bugg has been contracted to clear the overgrown A1303 footpath leading to Whitelands Farm bridleway.

 

GA sign for Bell Road to be placed at the start of the village from the A1303 junction was requested on 12th May.

 

H.   An e-mail from a resident concerning the collection of rubbish from the cemetery, the positioning of a new fence recently installed around a property by Hereward Housing and the maintenance of paths by the Prospect Trust has been dealt with following a site visit.

 

I.   Consultation Paper for Cambridge Core Traffic Scheme Stage 4 – passed to Cllr O’Dell – to be returned by 18th July.
