Planning items 10th May to 25th May 2005

 

1. Decisions made by ECDC Planning Department

Approval has been given for application 05/00262/FUL – Coach House 109 High Street – Tiles to be removed, rafters replaced then tiles to be replaced as before. Double doors to be replaced with wooden wall and long high window. Addition of 2 Velux windows to be added in rear of roof.

 

2. Comments returned to ECDC for the following applications

a.  05/00398/FUL – 21 Thomas Christian Way – Loft conversion – no objection

b.   05/00444/FUL – 25 Cedar Walk – single storey extension to rear– no objection

c.   05/00494/FUL – 8 Maple Close – single storey front extension (storm porch) – no objection

 

3.  Planning application under consideration

a.   05/00364/FUL – Queens Court – Demolition of existing redundant bungalows, replacement of external doors and windows. Building of new extensions and 16 bed roomed block, new access road, parking areas and landscaping.  Withdrawn. New application expected. A meeting was held with representatives from ECDC Planning Department, Mark Osbourne from Hereward Housing to discuss future car parking arrangements in Downing Close.

b.  05/00538/FUL – Swynford Paddocks Hotel – retrospective application for the retention of a marquee used for weddings and functions.

 

4. Other Matters

a. Cllr Leake has spoken to John Hill Chief executive of ECDC concerning the Code of practice concerning Street Naming and will report to the Council on this matter.

 

b. The builder for the 3 houses in Arber Close has not yet installed oak marker posts at the side of each driveway to show the property boundaries and the area of community owned grass verges. Following a letter from a nearby resident County Highways and ECDC Planning Department (acknowledged) have been contacted.
